Vidhana Soudha

The Vidhana Soudha located in Bengaluru (Bangalore), is the seat of the state legislatures of Karnataka It is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as Mysore Neo - Dravidian and incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic and Dravidian styles. It is therefore one of the largest of the Legislative buildings and impresses many visitors as larger as and more beautiful than similar buildings in Australia, the United States and even Canada.

 

Lal Bagh

Lalbagh or Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, meaning The Red Garden in English it is a 240 acres (0.97 km2) garden and is located in south Bangalore. The garden has over 1,000 species of flora. The garden also has trees that are over 100 years old. The garden surrounds one of the towers erected by the founder of Bangalore, Kempe Gowda. The park has some rare species of plants brought from Persia, Afghanistan and France. With an intricate watering system for irrigation, this garden is aesthetically designed, with lawns, flowerbeds, lotus pools and fountains. Most of the centuries-old trees are labelled for easy identification. The Lalbagh Rock, one of the oldest rock formations on earth.

Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park is a landmark 'lung' area of the Bengaluru city within the heart of city in the Central Administrative Area. Originally created in 1870, when Major General Richard Sankey was the then British Chief Engineer of Mysuru State covered an area of 100 acres and subsequent expansion has taken place and the area reported now is about 300 acres It has a rich recorded history of abundant flora and fauna plantations coupled with numerous impressive and aesthetically located buildings and statues of famous personages, in its precincts.

 

Bangalore Palace

A scenic palace which bears striking resemblance to England’s Windsor Castle, Bangalore Palace is a scenic tourist hotspot with a majestic castle-like structure set amidst lush green environs.

 

 

 

 

Bull Temple

Dodda Basavana Gudi (The Nandhi Temple) is situated in Bull Temple Road,Basavanagudi, area of South Bengaluru , part of the largest city of the Indian State of Karnataka. The Hindu temple inside a park called Bugle Rock. The bull referred to is a sacred Hindu demi-god, known as Nandi, Nandi is a close devotee and attendant of Shiva. Dodda Basavana Gudi is said to be the biggest temple to Nandi in the world. The stone cult image of Nandi is continually covered with new layers of butter,benne in the local language of Kannada. There is a cult image of the elephant-headed Hindu deity son of shiva Ganesha close by.


HAL Aerospace Museum

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum,the first of its kind in India was established in the year 2001 at HAL Airport Road,Bengaluru City.The Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum is spread over 4 acres of lush green land. It displays the photographs that chart the growth of aviation in each decade from 1940 till date,it also displays motorized cross section of models of aero engines,highlighting various functions of the engines. Some real engines such as Garret( Dornier) Adour(Jaguar)and Orpheus ( Kiran)could be seen here.

 

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technology Museum

The museum was instituted as part of the centenary celebrations of the engineer-statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya.The objective of the Museum is to popularize science through interactive exhibits. Visvesvaraya Museum is not a 'museum' it is more of a "Science Centre".

 

 

 

Bannerghatta National Park

Iskcon Temple

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Bengaluru city is huge cultural complex. Sri Radha Krishna Temple has deities of Radha and Krishna located at Rajajinagar in North Bengaluru. It is one of the largest ISKCON temples in the world.
